Cultural Evolution
I examine conceptual issues that arise in applications of Darwinian natural selection to cultural systems, with a focus on computational solutions to long-standing challenges. Check out my article in the British Journal for the Philosophy of Science, and my essay published by the The American Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence.
Bioethics
My bioethics research explores human rights and feminist approaches to transnational medical labour and to novel biotechnologies. I have published papers in top journals, including the Kennedy Institute of Ethics Journal, IJFAB, and the The American Journal of Bioethics.
Interspecies Ethics
I have worked with ecological researchers, zoos, and nonprofit associations such as the Nonhuman Rights Project, to promote the ethical treatment of animals. Papers from this work appear in journals as diverse as Science and Engineering Ethics and Evolutionary Applications, and in a co-authored book Chimpanzee Rights: The Philosophers’ Brief.
